This project was a lot of fun. It has a bowed front which I constructed by making ribs which I attached to the front of the cabinet. Then I sheathed it in 1/2" bending Birch. Finally I applied the burled mahogany "laminate" (which is a cool newer product from Formica Brand which has a real wood veneer attached to a plastic laminate backing which you work with and apply just like any plastic laminate)
.In these photos the laminate has a protective plastic film on it which I did not remove until it was delivered to protect its flawless satin finish.
The piece was finished off with a 3" thick solid mahogany top and was set upon a 6" high black laminate base/toe kick.
